Fernando Ortega, AIA, LEED AP

Fernando successfully transitions between projects of varying size, scope, use and typology in the studio by approaching each one individually, with an emphasis on a strong conceptual basis for design and attending to detail consistent with the gestalt, materials, and craft.

Throughout his career, Fernando has led projects of all sizes. His passion is to use his unique strengths to approach challenges as catalysts for opportunities that coalesce into a singular inevitable design. He has led the design of projects in distinctive contexts such as Santa Fe that are successfully rooted to their site and sense of place, but also evident to contemporary materials and craft.

A South Texas native, Fernando has travelled extensively and worked throughout the U.S. and abroad, providing a strong rooted connection to our community with a keen world view. He loves to stray off the beaten path in foreign cities to experience life with the locals.

Fernando actively follows the local art scene, stays young at heart through his passion for discovering new musical artists and support of live music, and enjoys cycling the scenic country roads just outside San Antonio.
