John Douglas is inspired by each client’s story and is passionate about what makes every community unique, believing that tapping into different personalities opens opportunity to reinvent traditional ideas, and inspire new ones. He graduated from Auburn University in 2011 as a member of the Rural Studio program, winning the top design award for his thesis in Revival of the Urban Home based in Montgomery, Alabama. While attending school, John Douglas had the opportunity to work on the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and spent another three years working in millwork before joining Overland in 2012. John Douglas is able to lose himself crafting whatever project he is working on, from design build projects, home arts and craft, to physical and 3-D modeling.
John Douglas was able to put his background into use on Overland’s new office, working on the interior design and assisting the Overland team in construction.
John Douglas loves living in downtown San Antonio and is actively engaged in generating interest among others for urban living. You can often find him piecing together ridiculous costumes for local events, earning him several alter egos around the office.
