Alamo Colleges sought to extend its educational reach to the northeast side of San Antonio, prompting a collaboration with Overland for a new campus master plan which included nine buildings. Acknowledging the pivotal role of community colleges in shaping the nation’s workforce, the project creates a dynamic learning environment tailored to San Antonio’s evolving job market. Overland strategically designed the 257-acre campus to optimize views of the central lake, fostering a distinctly academic yet welcoming atmosphere. A grand central plaza and clock tower are focal points, encouraging student interaction and providing a sense of institutional identity. The design includes diverse facilities such as a performing arts center, wellness center, library, and student commons, all crafted to Tier One university standards. Through collaboration with Ford, Powell, and Carson, Overland ensured a seamless synthesis of aesthetic and technological needs. As Northeast Lakeview College continues to expand its facilities and programs, its value to the community becomes increasingly evident, enriching educational opportunities and strengthening the region’s workforce.

This facility master plan far exceeds the initial expectations of our communities and has, as a consequence, expanded their vision of the role a community college can play in improving their individual and collective quality of life.
