Designed at the physical center of campus, the Student Union functions as the “living room” and connecting hub between the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. It was imperative for All Saints Episcopal School to create an innovative, flexible, state-of-the-art space to advance the school’s mission—education focused on the individual, a balanced learning environment, and a unique and fortifying culture. The Union includes dining facilities, a conference center, team meeting rooms, and a Middle School classroom.
Perched atop a grassy knoll, the All Saints’ Episcopal School chapel is a symbol of spiritual guidance and inspiration for its students. This sacred space embodies tranquility, offering a serene setting for morning services. The chapel’s design reflects the school’s mission to nurture the spiritual growth of its students, creating an atmosphere of excitement, uplifting students before their daily studies.
With its tall, pointed roof resting on four corner blocks representing the school’s foundational values, the chapel exudes solidity and grace. Flanked by lush private gardens, the chapel integrates with its natural surroundings, fostering a connection to the outdoors.
Inside, the chapel is bathed in morning light streaming through clerestory windows and expansive glass walls, creating a feeling of warmth and serenity. As light dances across the interior, casting intricate patterns of shadow and illumination, students, faculty and visitors are enveloped in peace and contemplation.
The whole room is lit with reflected light that creates a wonderful energy, a magic for the space for the start of the day, every day going to school.
