A home equally suited for family and a world-class contemporary art collection; this residence fulfills a mission to live with masterworks of art in a meaningful way. The design intent of the project revolved around ensuring that each collection piece is a participant in the daily conversation of the home. Incorporating the specifics of the collection into the design, lighting and dimensions were considered alongside the site plan. Inviting the natural elements of the site into the home’s experience, the bedroom bridges the creek, so the clients wake up every morning to their favorite view. With one of the country’s foremost lighting designers, the efficiency and beauty of spaces is maximized with ideal lighting conditions which allow for museum-quality lighting levels as well as warm, intimate residential levels. This unique residence celebrates the integral role of art in the human experience.

Rather than force their vision on us, Overland started the design process by carefully listening to our needs and desires for our new home. Our vision was to create a home that would not only complement our art collection but would truly allow us to live with and experience the art in our daily lives.
