Overland, tasked with integrating a contemporary structure into the campus’s historical context, designed the center with large windows that invite passersby to glimpse into bustling university life. The building’s placement amidst lush greenery, enhanced by site-specific art installations, creates an inviting atmosphere that reflects Rice’s commitment to serving the community through offering enriching programs. Today, the Anderson-Clarke Center stands as a vibrant hub of activity, embodying Rice University’s dedication to inclusive lifelong learning.

Working with you has been a great experience – you said you designed beautiful buildings, and you were right! I’m unpacking in my new office and looking out the window a lot!
