A farm-to-table dining destination in the Texas Hill Country, the Leaning Pear has long been cherished for its warm ambiance and communal spirit with a food philosophy of cherishing the shared table. However, with aspirations to expand their culinary horizons while staying true to their roots, the clients sought to create a new space that could accommodate their growing vision.

OVERLAND was tasked with crafting a state-of-the-art facility that not only enhances the restaurant’s farm-to-table offerings but also preserves its inviting atmosphere and sense of community. Situated along the Blanco River, the Leaning Pear embraces the natural beauty of its surroundings, as a series of terraces with a unique combination of both indoor and outdoor spaces that lend flexibility blend into the landscape. The lowest terrace is closest to the river, tucked inconspicuously among the trees where late-night guests are encouraged to relax and unwind with a simple bar service nearby.

From the “parking garden” entrance to the historical home-turned-storefront, which was their original restaurant location, every aspect of the design reflects the clients’ commitment to sustainability and local sourcing while preserving the restaurant character. With two commercial-grade kitchens and more room to grow, the Leaning Pear’s new abode promises to continue delighting diners and nurturing connections for years to come.

Let’s create a place you will never forget.
